ORANGE COUNTY SILENT FLYERS FLYING FIELD RULES DAYS: Open TIME: Dawn to dusk. PERSONNEL: Orange County Silent Flyers (OCSF) chartered club members, prospective members and guests of OCSF members. OCSF members, prospective members and guests of OCSF members shall abide by the following rules while using the OCSF club field. 1. Have their Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) model airplane sporting license/AMA member card in their possession while using the OCSF club field. 2. Abide by the official AMA safety codes. 3. Each OCSF member shall act as a “Field Marshal” when using the OCSF club field. 4. Each OCSF member shall be responsible for the air-worthiness of their guest or prospective members equipment. 5. Each OCSF member shall direct their full attention to their guests or prospective members flying, unless it can be shown that they have achieved LSF level 1 or equivalent experience. 6. Each OCSF member shall be aware of all activities at the club field and lend assistance when necessary. 7. OCSF members shall have an observer watching for potential interference with full scale aircraft. 8. Guests shall not fly more than three (3) times within one (1) OCSF club year. 9. Park all vehicles in the designated area. 10. Use the OCSF frequency control system when at the club field. 11. Complete a successful radio equipment ground range check before the first (1) flight of each day and after a crash has occurred. 12. Avoid flying over residential area. 13. Do not fly over the launching area, the pit area or other ground based objects with less than 50 feet of altitude. 14. Launching sailplane has the right of way at all times. 15. Designated launch area is a 50 foot radius around each launch point. 16. Designated landing area is any area not designated as launch, pit area or an area in proximity to any launch equipment. 17. Leave the designated landing area clear of personnel, aircraft or equipment unless on landing approach. 18. Assist in the setup and takedown of launching systems. 19. Assist in any clean-up required on the airfield. 20. OCSF club will not be liable for damaged or stolen equipment. 21. AMA number must be present on planes. 22. Name and address on radio. 23. Non-flying personnel must stay in designated spectator area. 24. No combustible engines allowed on the field. 25. Electric sailplanes must be launched in an area away from cars and people. 26. Frequency. 15 minutes maximum on same frequency (except for going for a new LSF level). 27. Hand launch planes must not be flown over cars and pits. |
