Here is Sal Barbagallo's latest creation.  Sal built a Bass Flyer from Gene Sellers & Bob Cranes plans.  Not much other details are available at this time but when I receive something I will post it here.  Here are some great photos of this slick looking electric.

 Wingspan is 60 inches
 Boom is by Avia
Fuse is balsa then covered with 1/2 ounce glass,
 then painted with Krylon
Wing, rudder and stab are covered with Polycover
from Hobby Lobby which is a modified 7% thick Clark Y
 Plane weighs 23.6 ounces,
 I'm running a Mega 16/15/7 brushless motor
 10X8 folding prop
 Espirit 32MM aluminum spinner
 Jeti 30amp controller
Hobby Lobby Twenty Lipo 1500 3S1P with 20C discharge
 rate
 Controls are Rudder/Elevator
half an elevator is functional, half is stationary
At 5/8 throttle plane will climb at a 75 degree

Kurt Zimmerman - 9/4/2006 -To the right is a picture of my newest creation.  I call it the "Condo-diction".  It is a cross between a Fred Sage Addiction & Ed Slegers Condor.

Wingspan:    122"

Airfoil:            MH32

Weight:         under 70  ozs.  I haven't weighed it yet.

Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 was not the best of days for flying.  By the time I arrived at the field the winds had picked up and was quite overcast.  I had to spend a fair amount of time setting up the radio to get things functioning.  After a few hand tosses I knew I was ready to take it up on a launch.  All that was available was Bob's heavy-duty high-start.  All flights were trim flights.  I had a total of 4 flights.  My goal was to feel out the plane, see what the MH32 airfoil can do on a larger plane.  My 2M Organic has the same airfoil.  For the most part the plane flew hands-off.  I needed a small amount of up-elevator trim.  I am guessing that the CG may be a bit forward.  Next trip to the field I will experiment with moving the CG further back.  I had an opportunity to see what the MH32 airfoil would do with reflex.  I reflexed the airfoil right after launch to see how fast I could reach the end of the field.  I was impressed.

There is a lot of "dialing-in" that has to be done, but overall I am very impressed with this plane.  Hopefully I will have this all ready to go within the next few weeks.
